The Bow Light on my 1985 montauk is overall in good condition, other then the pathetically thin chrome job which is now peeling badly.
Seeing as the assembly itself is brass (it is, right?), I was thinking about sanding off the rest of the chrome, polishing up the light, and then laquering to preserve the shine. Any reason I can't do this? Anything I'm missing.
Your advise is appreciated.
