Does anybody know of a six gallon tank that would fit under the rear seat of a 13 whaler? I have a 1964 sport 13 and the seat sits directly on the molding of the boat. I just purchased a 4 stroke motor and do not need much fuel so a six gallon would be perfect, I just want to free up as much deck space as possible. Any help of where to buy and what type of price i would be looking at would be great.

I have not seen any slim 6 gal tanks, however, if you relocate the bench to the top of the side boards the 6 gal fits under it unless you have the tall style vented gas cap.
Here's mine with the 6 gal tank under the seat.

I am doing a restoration of a 13 Whaler. I recently installed a specialty marine sport interior with the seat boards at the traditional height. I needed a fuel tank since the purchase of this boat did not include them. I found locally two Chrysler metal portable fuel tanks that were in near perfect shape. They are flatter than other tanks I have seen and will slip under the seat board but only in the center where the slight vee is. It will slide all the way under but the fuel inlet/cap and fuel outlet nipple will hit the bottom of the seat board.

Thanks for the input guys. Turpin, after looking at your personal page, i really like the platform you made behind the rear seat. Im definitely thinking about doing something similar but with mahogany. It creates a tye of added storage that would conceal the gas tank and battery. I could also put life jackets back there as there is no room in the front hatch for them or really any gear for that matter.

Here's the tank I had made for our 13. Powder coated aluminum, 8.3 gallons, under the front seat to get the weight forward. I also moved the battery into the console to get it forward. If you care for one I can send you a drawing to have a local fabricator build one.
