I'm redoing my 13ft whaler, changing from tiller engine to a remote. The console is only 22" wide - so I would like to go with as small a steering wheel as possible. Will an eleven inch diameter steering wheel with a 30 hp motor using rotary steering suffice or should I go larger?

I went to a 13 1/2" wheel from a 15" and it made abig difference in the amount of room for your legs looks great I think.

I also change from the original 15" to 13" wheel on a 35hp engine. I have my engine trim pin set for neutral steering torque so the steering is always light. I would think with similar engine trim on a 30hp motor an 11" wheel would not be any problem.
