I own a 1984 Montauk 17 and have viewed the diagrams of the locking rod box with interest. I can find absolutely no information how these wood parts fit into a boat. I have searched through all the photos on personal pages of owners of 16 and 17 foot boats with no success. Can someone please direct me to anything which will show/explain how this device is mounted in/on a boat? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I know there are photos in the personal page section.
I spent a few minutes but there are a lot of pages.

Maybe someone can remember which personal page to look at.

wing,

I just found this one where the owner made the rod boxes from the plans in our download section.

Thank you for your help, Joe. I found the drawings in the download section. One reason I'm interested is I have a T top and that prohibits the use of the rod holders on the front of the console. I don't really need the locking box feature of the setup so I've decided to make two of the front pieces, cut hooks instead of holes on the forward one and try to make that work. I'm in Michigan now till after Christmas and when I get home and get started I'll try to post some pictures.
