Hello,

I just bought this boat and plan on taking it out very soon for the first time. I want to make sure that the proper drains are plugged prior to launch. Can someone let me know where the drain plugs?

Moved to the Parts Discussion Forum.....

The Outrage 22' does not need any drain plugs except in the bow lockers if you want to keep those lockers from filling with water.

If you want to plug the drain in the rear small deck drain well you can.It will keep water from sitting in the rigging tunnel but by doing so it is not self bailing any longer so make sure your bildge pump is working with an auto float switch.I have a 1979 22 outrage with twin 115 yamaha's and the tip(2") of each nose cone's sit in the water while moored.

I should make a note here for everyone that doesn't know.

A 1989 Outrage 22' is different from earlier models.
In 1989 they changed to a FULL Splashwell as opposed to the older sink type splashwell....

The aft floor locker is also different. The 1989 does NOT have a thru hull like the prior models. It is more of a Live Well..

Thanks for the help and quick reply. I did find one in the built in bait tank, which will need to be plugged if used. It is good to know the drain plugs left by the previous owner won't be needed. Nice to be able to drop my Outrage in the water w/o worrying about plugs.

Now you have me curious on what you have...

Some very Early 1989 22' models apparently did not have the full splashwell or the live well...
Here is a photo of the rear locker cover along with the port and starboard teak sump covers with hinges.
This is the later 1989 Outrage 22' models.

Do you have the full splashwell as shown above ??

I would guess so because the live well does NOT have a drain in it.

Here is a photo of the live well and there is not any thru hull drain.

NOTE: on the photo above, all the live well components have been removed. We have photos of these parts in other forum posts.

I have the full splashwell as shown in your first link. My outrage came with the whaler drive so the setup at the transom is a bit different than the one pictured.

That makes perfect sense now...

A 1989 Outrage 22' Whaler Drive model...

The transom on the Whaler Drive models are totally different then other models.
