I need to replace them on two different boats. In my search I have found a well-documented article for installation, but not removal. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I am not sure there is a real technical way to do this. I would say use a flat blade screwdriver and a hammer. Roll the edge and just drive it through the hull. I am sure you could use a hack saw blade and cut it in two halves from the inside but I do not think you would need too.

I have had success with vice grips used to crush the tube in on itself and then use a wood dowel and a hammer to punch it through. I also mask off the area so that the vise grips do not scratch the gelcoat.

I just did this last week on my Montauk which were in bad shape. Assuming you are not trying to save them, its basically tap them out with whatever implement you choose, flat screw drive, etc, crush them, pull them etc,.
My short tubes in the drain well of the transom were easy. The sump tube I tried tapping from the transom side toward the sump, but it would not move after about 3 inches. I then crushed the sump side end and pushed it back out the transom side hole.
