Only the starboard side is bad?

Does the port side still have a name on them like Lee's ?

Port has no pitting. Can't find manufacturer name on top surface. Would like to match without replacing both. They appear original. Checked Lee's Tackle, just not sure which style to match. Lee's was supplier to BW factory??

Could be Perko or Lee's......

However, if it doesn't say Lee's, then it probably isn't....

Check Perko here:

On earlier Outrages, Lee's was used....

Looking at the elliptical shape it matches Perko plated zinc. (plated zinc explains the appearance of pitting). Thanks for the help.

Follow up....Wanting to at least use existing screw hole pattern, I contacted tech support of the following companies (attwood, perko, lee, gem, ce smith, sea dog) with center of screw to center of screw dimensions of existing rod holder hoping to find matching dimensions for pair of new rod holders so I could at least utilize existing screw holes. (Dont want to drill new holes in boat if I can avoid) None of the companies found a match. Any other manufacturers out there that I may have missed? Existing rod holder dimensions are: length = 8 1/2" diameter = 1 5/8" c-c of aft screw holes = 2 9/16" c-c from aft screw holes to single forward screw hole = 3" Thanks for your time.

My 1991 Outrage 17's gunnel mounted rod holders have Perko stamped on the face. Whaler probably changed sources over the years. Will try to post a photo to my personal page tomorrow.

Want to save the next person from having to make lots of phone calls and sending alot more e mails to a dozen manufacturers of rod holders, finally found the exact original replacement flush mount rod holder (qty 4) for my 1993 17' Outrage and its a perfect fit using original (3) bolt hole pattern. (Perko has added a cap) Part is a Perko 1205DP0CHR Rod Holder. This chapter is closed. Thanks all for your time.

R -

When you remove the old rod holder, seal the exposed edges of the hole with marine sealant. Boston Whaler did not seal the edges for the cut outs (gas fill, rod holders, rigging cutout in the deck etc.)

In reference to your suggestion to seal raw edge of gunnel cut out for rod holder, what have used to seal with? Good idea, I'll be sure to do that. Thanks.
