What type of anchor is supposed to be used on the 21 Outrage? My model has a SS fitting in the bow with a slot in it. I tried a fortress and a danforth anchor and neither will work properly. Is a Bruce the proper type? Please advise--

I'd like to hear feedback on this as well. My boat came with a Danforth as well.

I believe a Claw or Bruce anchor is what it is designed to hold. I have an old CQR/Plow that I think might work as well.

Are the rode length's adequate? The Danforth is a good design since it has been tested for years. But no matter the answer provided to your question, there will be people who disagree. I am not experienced enough to say any are better than any other. My history has seen Bruce and Danforth on 18 to 25 foot boats. the Bruce is a nice anchor, since there aren't any moving parts Each type seems to hold better in some ways and bottom types than the other.
If you don't like the danforth, try a bruce, it may be the anchor "for you"
