What is the size and diameter of the threaded stud for the lift eye? I will buy a rod that will take care of it, just need to know the diameter.

Its 3/8" threaded stainless rod. You can buy a 2 foot long piece at Home Depot.

Why do you need a new one? Can you chase the threads on the old one?
