Good to be able to shop again on behalf of a Montauk owner friend.
I have tried to match a Whaler buddy's need for a couple of feet of black rubrail.
I did send some of my left over rubber from my project here but have found the part to be "not quite" the compatible part needed.
I am looking for a 1974 Montauk left over black rubrail that would help this "trying hard" Whaler owner to make it right.
The part will be jointed at the Starboard corner haft section.
Can you guys look in your parts piles to see if such left over would be available for our buddy here.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks Ritzy for all your help. What we have found is that the black rubber insert from your boat is just a bit larger/fatter than the rubber on my 1974 Montauk. It is both a bit wider and the locking tabs that go into the plastic channels are a bit thicker and will not click in.
All is not wasted here though. Figuring I had nothing to lose by attempting to make your piece fit, I have had some success.
To bring other up to speed, my entire original rub rail is perfect all the way around except for the rear starboard corner where the previous owner apparently rubbed against a concrete dock just forward of where the rubber wraps around on the transom. The last 3 inches of rubber are worn down to the plastic track.
This rubber material is some tough stuff but I did learn it can be worked with on a belt sander and with an xacto knife. I was able to sand down the oversize piece you sent and make a very respectable repair saving me the time and expense of replacing the entire rail. I will get some pictures today and try to post.
