I have a 1975 - 15'-6" Whaler and am looking for the options to replace a defective steering cable. Can it be refurbished using my existing connectors? Anybody do this kind of fix? Or where can I source a replacement?

There are several different teleflex type steering cables available online. The length of your existing cable is probaby printed on the cable somewhere, if not a nut to nut measurement will get you close. Depending on length around $100-130 for a new one. Very easy to install.

Refurbished = NO (don't waste your time and money)

New = Yes

I don't know exactly what cable you have but you can buy a new cable from Teleflex.... or an entire new helm assembly with cable....

Here is one style of cable.

Here is an entire system:

NOTE:
These are only examples. You would want the system that is correct for what you want.
