Hey all,

I have a 1967 16-foot classic hull, and I am adding all of the components from a late 70's or early 80's Montauk, that is, the center console, RPS, and cooler. What are the measurments for locating the center console, RPS seat and cooler? Would someone be so kind as to measuring theirs? This would help me so much, I am getting the hull and center console gel coated soon and plan to install everything else after that.

Thanks for all of you help, I could not have restored the Whaler without this website.

Beantown,

I don't have the measurements but this is what you need.

1. The distance from the front bow locker wall to the front of the console legs.

2. The distance from the back of the console legs to the front of the RPS legs.

The cooler just sits in front of the console so you don't need any measurements for that once you get the console in the correct position and the RPS....

Hi Joe,

I agree with you but, I think I need the measurments off of the stern, because I think the montauk is different from the classic hull in the bow area. Isn't the front seat much bigger?
Anyway some measurments would be great.

Thanks

My console is the '77 to '82 version. I have a 94 igloo cooler and it fits great. I just ordered the cushions for the RPS, cooler and rod holders. It should look great, just need to know where to put everything.

Beantown,

Your right. It would be better to get the measurements from the stern for this conversion.

Where are all the Montauk owners. I don't have one close by or I would get the measurements for you.

Hello, From directly under the port stern light mount to the outside corner of the rps foot is 48 3/4" . From the front port side inside rps foot corner to the console at the floor mount is 18".
Hope this helps

Pete,

Thanks for measuring that.
Just to make sure I understand you correctly, I have a drawing attached.
The measurements are to the back of the rear RPS legs and then from the front of the RPS legs.
Correct?

Yes Joe, thats what I have. My 84 Montauk has not been modified. This is the way it was born.
Thanks for the drawing.
