At some point over the past week while browsing Whaler Central or CW I found a nice picture someone had taken of their 13'. It was good because it showed measurements of the boat sitting in the water - showing that one side was lower than the other. For the life of me, I can no longer find it. Can someone point me to this page?

Ed - that's the post I was looking for - and had followed it to your photobucket pictures. I just acquired a Whaler 13 - my first Whaler at 52 years of age! I have yet to put it into the water as it is a bit portly. I used a bathroom scale and got 190 on front and 290 on stern for a total of 480 pounds. I've drilled half inch holes in it and been allowing it to dry for past 3 weeks. I put in pieces of paper towel to help wick out water - and that helped. But it's clear that my left side is heavier than my right - which is opposite of yours.

I need to weigh it again as the dripping has stopped (paper towels just damp in a few locations on left side only). I'm hopeful that I've shed some decent weight and may have it closer to your weight...

Thanks so much for helping me find this picture with the measurements. When I finally launch mine, I'll be able to do the same! I'm sure I'll be listing to the port side...

I think we should start a club or something! :-) I realize that my boat is nowhere near perfect and I am not sure why I ordered a new interior but I did. The rest of the boat is all crazed and blistered. I need to take some new pictures to show the listing with the interior and motor on the boat. You do notice it while it is moored but underway, when it is just me, all I have to do is move more towards the middle. Even if there was no water in the starboard side, I would think that you would still have to move towards the center to level out the boat. I was contemplating installing the steering on the Port side of the boat but I realized that the throttle controls would be more difficult to use with the left hand. In your case you would probably be sitting level.

BTW I could not get an accurate weight on the scale by weighing the front or back separately. I took the empty trailer to a quarry that sells landscaping materials then came back with the boat.
