Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: Plastic feet for stern seating

I have a
1998 outrage with the fold down stern seating. The problem I have is one of the plastic feet that fits inside the fold down legs is missing (don't ask me how). Right now the only way I can put the seat down so it doesn't scratch the deck is to put a towel or something else between the leg and the deck. Of course anytime you hit a bump or something it comes loose so I need a more permanent solution. I called the Boston Whaler parts folks but they basically couldn't help; it's not something they even have a part number for. So I am looking for ideas how to get something in the leg of the seat, even if it looks completely different, like a wooden, or better yet a plastic plug. Any ideas would be welcome.

Try the rubber feet for chair legs. I use them on my boarding ladder. if that fails go get some tennis balls, poke a hole in it and slide it over the leg.

I'll look for the chair feet and the tennis ball idea may work but these legs are about 2 1/2 inchies in diameter. I don't think there are many chairs out there with legs that thick and tennis balls may not be big enough either.
But thanks for the sugesstions! Tennis balls are cheap so I'll give them a try.

Talbro, any luck here? I have the same issue and am using duct tape over the leg, works okay but would like to have more padding.

Have you reviewed the hardware section of a Lowes or HD type store?
What is the model and year of your boat?
Is the seat OEM or aftermarket?
What is the internal and external diameter of the leg?

From what I understand the OP's just want something to protect the sole/deck. That being the case a picture of said leg will do a thousand words. If it is 2.5", is that round, square, rectangular? Is it solid, is it hollow?
If Boston Whaler didn't have a part number then the above answered questions coulp give the posters a solution as Model boat doesn't matter.
If solid there are many screw in rubber leg protectors that will do the job, even if they are only 1.5" or less in diameter. These can be found at any big box or hard ware store in many colors.
No matter what there should be a surface you can mount 1 or more(smaller) floor protectors to.

I had no problem finding a proper substitute in Home Depot.
