I have used a 50 LBS Minn Kota when I also had a 15 ft aluminum modified Jon boat. worked fine... I also use it on my 17 whaler today, it pushes it.... but I would not expect a lot run time out of fully charged battery. In windy conditions its lame...:o But to troll around docks or in very stumpy area of Greenwood lake it works. I believe it is the eudra model.

If your carefull with the throttle you should get a few hours on a small boat.
