I have never, in my 15 years here, ever read of an owner having to cut off part of the engine bracket to install a hydraulic steering kit.
Note the Baystar unit you selected is 5:0 turns lock-to-lock. That is not going to be practical as most helms are 3 or 4 turns. I would hate a 5 T2T system when in close quarter manuvering like docking.
Have you considered the less complex and expensive Teleflex NFB helm and cable?
