best practices for installing a two step ladder on the transom of a 2002 Boston Whaler. I don't have access to secure the ladder using a through hole fitting process. The stainless fittings that mount of the transom, provided by the manufacture don't have machine screws or bolts provided.

If someone would please walk me through the process and using the correct lock-tight, bolts and or screws i will be grateful.

Thanks

A 2002 what? The model name is important.

Who is the manufacturer and which model of ladder.

The more information provided, the more accurate and useful advice will be provided.

Does anyone make heavy duty SS toggle bolts that would be suitable for blind fastening an item like this?

I am installing a Garelick folding two step ladder mounted on the transom of a 2002 130 Sport. There are four SS brackets that mount to the transom. The instructions call for 1/4" diameter fastens. Mounting on the starboard side of the O/B. As you probably know mounting far enough from the O/B will not give me the option to bolt through hull.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my questions.

Check the wood or Whaler Board location for your boat transom. If that backing material is located so it could be used I would mount the ladder with screws. Toggle bolt mounting of a boarding ladder may not perform well over time due to the relatively thin outer layer of fiberglass on the transom.

Try https://www.bostonwhaler.com/boat-own...resources/ and if you can't findyour answer there I'm sure Whaler customer service could help with a diagram.
