I am looking a buying a 2005 Conquest I am told it has twin Yamaha four stroke 225 engines. The boat has black engines with the word Mercury on them. I am told that for several years Mercury was unable to supply engines for the whalers and had Yamaha supply the engines but were painted to look like Mercury's. Is this true?
