2003 Outrage 270. Trying to replace the bow (both starboard and port sides) nav lights which are not working. Im trying to find the route the wires take going forward in hopes to follow them back to the console. Have no idea where to start. pulled the old nav lights off and stuff is so curroded from years of sitting in Govt surplus that Id love to fish fresh wire. Going LED, obviously. thanks

I searched on the Whaler website for wiring diagrams but they are not offered for your model.

If this is a former government boat it will could be very different than the civilian models since CPD orders are customized for every order.

Call Customer Service and ask them to email you the wiring diagrams for the 2003 Outrage 270. They have them. That is a good place to start.

Do you know the guys at Port Harbor Marine in So.Po? If not, what yard do you use?

Worst case you can run the wires through the rubrail...maybe.

Thanks, Phil. This is actually an "off the shelf" outrage that the coast guard bought (along with 150 others) just after 9/11. They quickly realized the Outrage wasnt really a great platform for boarding and tight coastal navigation so they basically took them all out of service.

I do know Port Harbor- I am partial to Royal River Boat in Yarmouth as they have tended to my sailboat over the years and are REALLY good people. This is a project boat really, Im trying to just get it up and running for the family and I to cruise around in with little fiscal impact. Hoping to try my hand at spraying Gelcoat this spring too!

The Royal River guys have a great rep. Many of my friends use them.

Give Whaler a call.

On the classic whalers, rewiring the bow light uses the rubrail track as a way to route the wiring back to the stern.

Given what I see the wires either go either inside the hull or via the rubrail receiver or join up with the windless harness.

Can you see using the rubrail track?

FWIW I will be up there the week of the 12th.
