I just got this boat and the fuel gauge is not functional. Anyone know how to troubleshoot this to figure out if it is the gauge, wiring, or sending unit?
I presume you are talking about the dash mounted Boston Whaler branded fuel gauge in the instrument panel?
First check the back of the gauge. Trace the wires.
If your model is a 1990, the fuel tank may NOT be under the floor, rather in the stern, behind and under the rear splashwell cap.
If the fuel tank in the floor:
Pull the inspection port that is under the reversible pilot seat RPS and check the two wires that come off the fuel sender.
Report back your results.
Note key must be in the ON position for gauge to show results.
