West Marine if you want it right away and don't mind paying a little more...

On a 17' Whaler, the circuit breaker on the main house power, installed on the positive lead near the battery, was 30 Amp. Then the individual branch circuits for switches and other accessories had their own fuses, usually none more than 10 amps. The power leads up to the console were 10 ga wire.

Check the Blue Sea line of circuit breakers. The have circuit breakers as well as circuit breaker switches. The have flush mount as well as recessed circuit breakers (switches).

The factory circuit breaker I'm sure is 30 amp, and would have a pop-up button located on the top of it, mounted in a box on the inner hull side near the stern light pole.

Fifteen amp is not enough to carry possible electrical requirements of the boat, including radio, GPS, lighting, etc.

I also have a 1987 Montauk. The previous poster is correct the original circuit breaker is a 30 amp. You can find them on amazon. I just replaced one with this same part. if you search these words on amazon you will find it. They also sell the rubber clear boot that covers the push button to provide some better protection from water.
