Picking up our new Whaler next week. Should I Christen it? Do I "need" to do that before I splash her in the lake for a shakedown cruise?

I'm not terribly superstitious, but figured we should do this the right way!

I believe that's a personal choice. It can't hurt anything though.

Yes - I think I'd like to do it to mark the occasion (first ever power boat!), but also for the tradition!
