Hi All I have a 1978 Sport that I purchased from the original owner and just completed a full restoration on the the boat including all new wiring, power, wood and epoxy deck. I took her for a shakedown yesterday and everything went well but I'm concerned about how she floats. As i mentioned I purchased her from the original owner in California and the boat has not been in the water for a year or two and stored with a cover so I think she is pretty dry. My concern is that she floats below the waterline so that the two motor drain tubes in the hull are at waterline. She doesn't take water but pretty close. I have a 2003 Merc 60 HP 4 stroke on her if this helps.

Berger - More details are needed....fuel tank size, location, battery placement, etc... 15's are sensitive to weight placement. Some photos would help too....

Doesn't sound too abnormal...post some pics when you can...and most importantly...go enjoy the boat!

My 15' sits with the water right at the 2 splash well drain tubes. I wouldn't be concerned.
