Folks, I run a sailing school here in WV. One of our students just purchased a Whaler Squall-9 The mast and boom system seems strange to me. The upper portion of the sail is made like it is a sock sail with the lower portion using ties.

It appears to be a modified lanteen rig. The problem is the lower mast section has a different O.D then the upper section. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pictures are available if you wish.

Download was fixed.
Somehow there was an extra space in the name of the file.

Thanks for letting me know.

I can't believe there were over 50 downloads of that button being clicked and not one member told us the link was broken until now.
Makes a person wonder.

Maybe you will confirm that it is working for you.
It works for me.

The download count is 54 after I tried it and it worked.
Let's see if anyone downloads this after me.

This download is 47 pages of instructions on how to setup everything on a squall.

Anyone know about how much a 9' Squall should weigh? My step dad has one but its been left outside, uncovered and partially filled with rainwater for most of its life I think. He offered it to me but I tried to lift it off its stand and could hardly move it. I think it is past waterlogged.

soapy,

Thanks for letting me know.
That should give you all the information you need to setup that squall.
That is a genuine Boston Whaler installation instruction document.

Joe - Just picked up a Squall in good shape, but no rigging. Is the download manual still available?

Call Boston Whaler and they can tell you everything they know about those numbers. Those were all I had, and they told me where it was sold etc.

For a Squall you would need to contact Boston Whaler as bmw90 states.

You can get some info on other members with Squalls on our members boat info page.
Order by model at the top of the page and then scroll down to Squall.
http://www.whalercentral.com/boat_lis...st/bl1.php

For all other models you can decipher the Stencil and HIN Information from our article here:
http://www.whalercentral.com/articles...icle_id=61

Also see the members boat model count here:
http://www.whalercentral.com/viewpage...age_id=163

I would guess that your number 05438 would make it a 1970 year model.
But that would just be a guess.
