Propellor suggestion for 60hp E-TEC on 15' SS Limited?
I have just purchased a 60hp E-TEC for my 15' Super Sport Limited, does anyone here have a suggestion for a starting point on the propeller size and pitch?
I'm looking for something that offers overall decent performance while occasionally pulling a tube or a skiier as my children get older.
The engine isn't mounted yet.. Is is sitting waiting in a line for the rig. I'm hoping I will have it back for this weekend, but the reality is that I probably won't, as it is a long weekend here in Ontario.
I told them to mount it with the anti-cavitation plate parallel with the bottom of the hull, and will reiterate that when I stop by Friday.. I know it should be 2 or 3 holes up from my experience raising the motor on my 13'.
Boston Whaler's typically like motors to be mounted with the anti-cavitation 1 to 1 1/2 inches above the keel.
Actually E-TEC's like to be mounted HIGH so that means 3 holes. 2 is a good starting point.
Remember - dealers are cautious and 9 out of 10 will mount the engine way too low. This is not me speaking, rather 100's of owners who have re-powered.
If you are spending ~ $100/hr to have them mount the motor, why not have them do it right the first time?
