RPS Rod Holder Repair

Has any tried a repair for the plastic caps on the RPS? Mine are pretty shot. I have also though about just taking the plastic off and dulling the sharp edges and just using it like that. I assume they are stainless.

I had the same problem, I went to the hardware store and bought some plastic spray paint (I think it was Krylon Fusion).. Essentially it is a plastic coating that sprays on in in an off white color. The rod holders look like new.

Another option is the the stuff you can dip pliers handles into, I think it is called "Plasti Dip" which would be another option but I tried the spray and it worked great.

There is another alternative besides the original rod holders.

I, and several others, have replaced the original Perko rod holders with Lee's flush mount 90ยบ rod holders.

I have seen those pictures and they look great. Too bad right now I have reaching the ends of my funds until I save some more up. I don't want to be running up credit.
